Once more unto the breach, dear friends

Hey there killer!

I see you've pulled yourself away from some ever important YouTube trolling and Facebook stalking to take a look at my site (hey don't get distracted! Eyes over here!)

It's been a long time since I've had a blog or a journal (one year and almost two years respectively.) Looking back, I noticed that both of my previous attempts started and ended the same way. This time, however, I'm going to do things differently.

Both of my previous blogging experiences started because I thought I had something important to say and I wanted people to listen to me. When I discovered that even after blogging about some inspirational life-affirming epiphany I had, nobody was listening, I got frustrated (having concluded that "nobody's listening" was synonymous with "nobody cares") and in a pointless bout of electronic rage, ranted to no one about nothing and never looked back. This time it's different.

This time I'm not looking for people to listen to me, to validate me. I know that the basic purpose of a blog is to be heard, to be noticed, recognized. If that happens, hey that's great, but I'm not doing this for you... I'm doing this for me.

With the exception of these first few expository posts, this blog will be directed toward no one. It is meant to impress no one. And chances are it will be read by (you guessed it) no one. Yeah I know what you're thinking, "well if you don't want anyone to read it, why don't you stop adding hyperlinks... why dont you disable commenting... why don't you make it private... why don't you just forget about the whole thing!"

Well Captain Conclusion-Jumper, I never said that I don't want people to read it. I said that I don't care if people read it (try reading a real book and learning the differences between words... sped.)

I'd elaborate on what sort of things you have to look forward to (or not to look forward to as the case may be,) but:
a. all blogs are essentially filled with the same crap
b. this post is boring and already it's too long, and besides

c. I wouldn't want to ruin the surprise.

Stay tuned (or don't.)

-(not Uarts or Temple or Intense... Just) Rob
